Another month means another list of my favourite beauty products! So what have I been using in the month of June...

A COLLAGE OF THE BEAUTY PRODUCTS I HAVE BEEN USING IN JUNE

1. QV Cream - As you might know I suffer with very bad dry skin / eczema. Its really difficult for me to keep my skin soft and even harder to find a cream that works and that I can put on my face. A lot of the creams I use to keep the dry skin away are too harsh to use on my face but this one is perfect. This cream isn't greasy and sometimes I even apply it under my foundation before I go out.

2. Clean On Me by Soap & Glory - I've actually been using this shower gel since Christmas as I received a few as presents. This shower gel is definitely one of the best I've ever used as it smells gorgeous and isn't too harsh on my skin.

3. Chloe Perfume - I received this perfume for my birthday off my mom one year as she accidentally got the wrong one. At the time I was disappointed, but after using it for a while I soon learned to love it and I've been buying it ever since. I usually reserve this perfume for holidays so whenever I spray it, it reminds me of going away.

4. Collection 2000 Pressed Powder - I am absolutely in love with this foundation. It's the perfect top layer over liquid foundation and at around £2 it really is a bargain. I've been using it for a while now and I will never buy any other brand.

JUNE BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Last night me and my sister went to the Moscow State Circus. I love the circus, and when I saw that two free tickets had been dropped off at work for us, I snapped them up. I've been to quite a few circuses before so I new what to expect, although this didn't make me any less excited.

We arrived really early and managed to get some amazing grandstand seats, where we could see everything. I usually try to get ring side seats, but I'm so glad we chose to sit higher up this time as you get a much better view.

A hand balancing act
3 juggling clowns
a group of circus actors climbing to stand on top of each other to create a human tower

The show started with what I guess you could call a clown, although he wasn't dressed as one, but he did act like one and came on every now and then to keep us distracted while the sets were being changed. I don't care much for clowns and I was much more interested in watching the more dangerous acts.

The first proper act to come on was a male gymnast who was amazing. I've seen this kind of act before but it never fails to amaze me.

a hula hoop girl spinning at least 5 hula hoops around herself
a circus act where the performer is suspended in the air

My favorite act was probably the acrobats. I just love watching them throw themselves around in the air without any care. Although they did fall a few times, they always landed on the netting, but it was still scary how close they dropped to the ground.

Another amazing act was the hula hoop girl. I have no clue how she managed to keep all of the hoops up, there must have been at least 5 spinning around her.

We had such a great night watching all the acts. I hope another one comes out soon so I can take Sean to see it!

Have you been to see the Moscow State Circus?

MOSCOW STATE CIRCUS

I recently treated myself to this new nail varnish. I wanted something bright and summery and thought this gorgeous colour was perfect. I loved the speckled effect and had really high hopes for this the Maybelline Colour Show Acid Wash nail varnish.

A BOTTLE OF TURQUOISE ACID WASH NAIL VARNISH
Maybelline Colour Show Acid Wash Effect Nail Polish in shade #246

I first tried it out a couple days ago and I was actually quite disappointed. The varnish was thick and gloopy and hard to apply evenly. I found it difficult to apply to the edges of my nails as the solution was just so thick. Eventually I managed to paint my nails and they looked okay, nothing special, but okay. I still loved the colour and and I liked the texture of the little bits on my nails.

Fast forward a few hours and I had noticed that it had already started chipping. I'd only applied the nail varnish a couple of hours before and already there were big chunks where it had come off. By the end of the first day the chips were fairly noticeable and I was no longer in love with my new nail varnish.

I was really disappointed with the whole thing, and expected more from such a good cosmetics brand. Next time I think I will apply a top coat too see if this helps.

Over all I would not recommend this nail varnish and I'd give it a 3/10.

Have you tried anything from this range before? What did you think?

REVIEW | MAYBELLINE COLOUR SHOW ACID WASH NAIL VARNISH

* This post contains items gifted for review

Last week I picked up two gorgeous bracelet sets from The Bead Shop. I love a bit of DIY and I love jewellery so stick the two together and that's a winning combination for me. Yesterday morning, with a bit of help from Sean, I set about putting the bracelets together.

STARTING TO ADD THE GREEN BEADS TO THE STRING

They were really simple to make and the instructions were easy to follow. After only a few minutes me and Sean had both completed a considerable chunk of our bracelets, and they were  already starting to look quite good. One problem we did come across whilst putting the beads on the string was that it would easily fray at the ends, making it hard to thread the beads. This problem was soon sorted by cutting the string at an angle and melting the wax around it.

After about half hour we had both finished our bracelets and had a few beads and rings left over. I really enjoyed making the Seed Bead and Jump Ring bracelets and think they would make great little gifts. If your looking to for some little presents or even if you want to treat yourself I would recommend you check out The bead shop as they stock really good value beads and jewellery kits. The Seed Bead and Jump Ring bracelets are only £3 each and you can find them here.

THE BEAD SHOP SEED BEAD AND JUMP RING BRACELET KITS

This isn’t my usual type of post but as I do travel a lot and on a budget too I thought I would share a bit about how I save with you guys. I'd like to think I'm pretty damn good at saving now though I do want to disclose that I am extremely lucky as I still have a comfortable life living with my parents which I know is a luxury not everyones has.

Photograph of a life vest with the ocean in the background. a jet ski can be seen splashing about to the side of the life vest

So here is how I scrimp and save to go on my perfect holidays!

I work a minimum wage job and lets face it, that doesn’t always leave me with lots to spend so I have to make cuts in what I buy. I used to buy lots and lots of cheap things. I didn’t think anything of it. A few items off eBay at 99p a piece was nothing. But this soon adds up believe me. Once I cut out buying crap I soon noticed my bank balance looking a lot happier. Another thing to go was magazines. I love reading magazines. But reading so many magazines a month was costing me a lot so I cut them out. And I still get lots of free inspiration from reading other peoples blogs.

One really good tip (especially for you bloggers out there) is to use the make-up you have before buying more. If you are like me and you just love trying out new beauty products I’m sure you have box full of bits and bobs that you’ve only used once. USE IT. You don’t need another £15 lipstick, believe me, I’m sure you have another 3 somewhere almost the same colour. If you don’t like it or don’t want it, set up a blog sale. It won’t make you millions but it’s more than you would have.

And that brings me onto my next thing, sell your stuff! I love eBay, I think everyone knows this but it’s such a good way to make a few quid. I’m always selling clothes and bags etc on there and yes I know sometimes they don’t sell for loads but its money you wouldn’t have had. My wardrobe is always full of clothes I haven’t worn in ages so every now and then I do a huge clear out and make a bit of money towards my next trip.

Okay so now you've saved a fair bit and you are looking for the perfect holiday. Here are a few more tips on how to get the most for your money. These won’t work for everyone but if you’re not fussed about when or where you are going you could really get a bargain.

If like me you are quite flexible in where you will go or when you can, try and book last minute. Travel agents will tell you last minute deals don’t exist anymore but I can tell you they definitely do. Also it’s always a good plan to try and book out of school holidays. Prices always go up the week’s kids aren’t at school so avoid these if you can, and your trip will be more relaxing too!

Another obvious tip is to look around. There are so many travel sites that provide holidays in the same places I’m sure you can find a bargain if you look hard enough. One more thing I would suggest is if you plan on taking a few trips abroad in one year is to get annual insurance. I wish I’d have thought of this at the start of the year as I would have saved quite a bit of money.

So those are my tips for saving and finding a bargain holiday. I hoped this has helped anyone wanting to start saving but not really sure where to start. I’d also love to know what you guys think of this sort of post as its nothing like my others!
