Disney
So initially I wanted to do this as a video but considering I haven't updated my little blog for a while I thought I would do it on here! I've been to Disneyland Paris quite a few times now (eight times to be precise), and during those trips I've accumulated several favourites that I wanted to share with you all.

Top 2 Rides in Disneyland Park - It would be way too hard to just pick one so I've got two! My first is Big Thunder Mountain; it's a bit of a thrill ride with a fantastic theme. My second favourite is Peter Pan's Flight. This couldn't be more different from most of my other favourites but it's just so magical!

Top 2 Rides in Walt Disney Studios - Again, I could never pick just one! I've loved Tower of Terror ever since my first ride on it back in 2013, and it's been a firm favourite ever since. The other ride I would pick has to be Crush's Coaster! I hadn't had chance to go on it until recently but I'm so glad I ignored the long queue time and gave it a go!

Top 3 Restaurants - Lets be honest, the food in Disney is pretty pricey and most of it isn't exactly the best either, but there are still several places I have to eat in while on holiday! My all time top restaurant is Hakuna Matata, the theme in that place is amazing plus the food is delicious! Another favourite has to be Casey's on Main Street, you can't go wrong with hot dogs and chips really. The last restaurant to make the list has to be Plaza Gardens. The character breakfast there really is a treat.

Favourite Thing To Eat - If I could only eat one thing in Disneyland it would have to be Hakuna fries from Hakuna Matata. They are crinkle cut chips with a yummy flavouring unlike anything I've ever had before! Pair that up with the Kebab meal deal and you have one happy Gracie.

Top 3 Meet And Greets - One of the best meet and greets I had was with Chip and Dale. They are just so fun and you end up with several hilarious photographs after just a few moments with them. Another great meet and greet was Moana (Vianna in France). She was really chatty and looked incredible - my photos with her are easily some of my most treasured. But my very favourite meet and greet has to be with Micky Mouse himself! He doesn't talk, but more than makes up for it by playing around!

Best Show - This is really hard as there are just so many amazing shows in the park that change from time to time, but I would have to say Mickey and the Magician. I almost cried the first time I saw it and even though I've watched it a few times since, the magic hasn't worn off!

Favourite Shop - Again this is super hard as there are so many to chose from but I'm going to go with World of Disney as I think its the biggest and you can pretty much get anything from there!

Favourite Hotel - This is a bit of a cheat as I've only ever stayed in two but out of the Santa Fe and The Cheyenne, the Cheyenne is definitely the best! The cowboy/ Toy Story theme is great and the newly renovated rooms are so much nicer, plus the rooms are a lot easier to find than in the Santa Fe I think.

Favourite Time of Year - I've been to Disney throughout different season's and my favourite time to go is in the early Summer. It's nice and warm, unlikely to rain, and the kids haven't broke up from school so it's not too busy. I haven't been during the Christmas season however so I imagine that would be pretty magical!

So those are my Disneyland Paris favourites! Although I'm not going to call this a 'tag post' as such, I would love my fellow Disneyland fans to fill this in on their own blogs or even just in the comments below! What are your Disneyland faves?!

DISNEYLAND PARIS FAVOURITES

You might have seen that I'm off to Disneyland Paris in a few days and I couldn't be more excited! We're lucky enough to have two days in the park this time however I have done Disneyland in just one day before now. This will be my 5th time to the park and although I'm no expert I have a few tricks when it comes down to getting everything done.

Plan ahead
Hours pass in no time while you're having fun in Disney, so a rough plan of the day is a good idea. Queues can sometimes be 2 hours+ so you might not be able to go on everything. Grab a map and circle the rides you know you want to get on. Do these rides first, that way you have a better chance of getting them all done. The rides I've found that have the longest waiting times are usually - Space Mountain, Rock N Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, Crushes Coaster, and The Disneyland Railroad (if you get on at main street USA).

Pack a lunch
You'll be queueing for rides all day so there's no point waiting in line for food as well, although I'll be the first to say those Disney hot dogs are a must have. If it looks like you'll be waiting a long time for a ride, why not munch your lunch in the queue? I've done that several times before now.

Dress appropriately
This might be obvious but I've seen women in heeled boots at Disneyland before and believe me they didn't look too fab after hours of stumbling around. You are going to be walking around all day so it's always best to wear comfy shoes. It's also a good idea to wear layers in case you get too hot/ cold. If you are comfortable you should be able to run around Disney all day without needing too many breaks.

The Parade
The Disney Magic on Parade is one of the main aspects of your day in the park. It's usually at around 5:30PM but make sure you check the times in the park guide or by clicking here as they do change with the season. I would recommend getting to Main Street USA around half an hour early to guarantee you get a space at the front. People with children can be ruthless when it comes to getting a spot so make sure you stand your ground!

Shopping
There are a hell of a lot of shops in the park, you wont be able to avoid them as a lot of rides exit through them but I would recommend not spending too much time browsing these during the park opening times. You will probably be able to buy everything in the Disney Village which is open a lot later than the park itself. There's no point wasting your time shopping when you can pick it up later.

Shop my Disney essentials

So that was about everything I can think of right now. I'd say these tips apply to pretty much any theme park and not just my favourite one! I really hope you guys found these helpful, feel free to leave any of your own tips in the comments!

HOW TO DO DISNEYLAND IN A DAY

So last week I posted about our first day in Paris and as the post was looking a little long I decided to split it in two. If you missed the first half of my Paris travel diary you can catch up on it here, this post is all about days 2 and 3!

Day 2 - On our second day we went to Disneyland! This was one of the only things we had actually planned in advance and something we were so so excited for! This was my 4th time and Sean's 2nd in Disney but do you think that took the shine off it at all? No it didn't! Although it was a bit of a trek; over an hour on 2 train journeys I was just so happy to be going back to one of my favourite places.

I don't really know what to say about this day, we just spent hours running around jumping on all of our favourite rides and a few new ones too. I also bought another pair of Minnie Mouse ears which dug into my head like you wouldn't believe, however I smiled through the pain and enjoyed every second of my day!

We rode our fave rollercoasters, ate the famous hot dogs and watched the fireworks like we were 5 year olds again. The whole day was just brilliant and even though we were completely out of energy we stayed right up until the park closed at 11pm. Two hours later we were just arriving back at the hotel for one last night.

Day 3 - By day 3 we really were out of energy and ideas. I've never really been one for relaxing holidays but this week we had pushed ourselves to the absolute limit and had nothing left to give. We slept in for as long as our hotel would let us before checking out to wander the city once more.

Without really knowing what to do we headed towards the famous Paris Catacombs. We had heard so much online about them and after watching the film As Above So Below we really wanted to check them out for ourselves. Once we got there the queue was hours long and honestly we just didn't have the strength to stand. We weighed up our options for a bit before going over to Les Invalides which houses a military museum and the Tomb of Napoleon. I don't really know all the much about French history but it was fascinating to see the final resting place of someone who conquered so much of Europe.

We still had so much time before our coach left on the night so again without really knowing what to do we went back towards the Eiffel Tower to have a picnic in one of the parks surrounding. We ate and relaxed and even fell asleep at one point in the late afternoon sun. Our time in Paris was almost over but all we wanted to do was climb into bed and nap for days. After a few hours of drifting in and out of consciousness it was time to pick the bags up from the hotel and catch our dreaded coach home. It would be another 20 hours before we finally arrived back in Birmingham but thats a story for another time!

There's a bit of me that feels like we kind of wasted our time here. There was so much we could have done but we were just too tired to function. Maybe one day we will get to come back to Paris but for now theres so much more of the world to see!

Paris Travel Diary Days 2 + 3

So as you may know, me and Sean ran away to Disneyland for a few days. This was my 3rd time there but Seans 1st so I wanted to make it really special. We went on all the best rides, ate at my favorite places, and acted like 4 year olds, it was amazing.

On the first day we really only had time to grab dinner and have a look around the Disney Village before heading back for a well deserved sleep.

We did all the big rides on the second day, spending most of our time on Tower of Terror, which is my favorite. At 5 we settled down with a yummy hot chocolate and a muffin to watch the daily parade. After the park closed we had a quick dash back to the hotel to make ourselves pretty for the Dreams show and dinner at Planet Hollywood. The show was amazing. It really topped off a fantastic day and I was kind of sad we only got to see it once.

By the third day our lack of sleep because of the long journey down had really caught up with us and we spent a lot of time on the smaller rides and watching the shows. We decided to skip the parade this time and spent our last hour on our favorite rides. At the end of the third day it was time to prepare ourselves for an uncomfortable 12 hour journey home to Brum.

We had such a good time and I would 100% recommend a holiday there, even if you think you're a bit too old ;)
