Welcome back to another edition of High End Vs Budget; today we are going to be discussing Liquid Lipsticks! For this months post me and Amanda have switched roles! She will be talking about a high end product and I will be focussing on a more budget friendly version.
Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick in shade Birthday Suit RRP £4.99
When Amanda first proposed that this months post be all about liquid lipsticks I wasn't sure. I hadn't got on with many in the past and I sure as hell didn't have any high end products to talk about. Amanda on the other hand is a liquid lipstick queen, that girl has every shade imaginable so we though it only fair that we switch it up and give her a chance to talk about one of her favourite products.
As I previously said, most of the liquid lipsticks I'd tried in the past just didn't suit me. If they didn't rub off within minutes they lasted for hours to only look patchy and uneven later down the line. There is however one lippy that I do quite like. The Matte Me liquid lipstick by Sleek has been the only liquid lipstick that I've ever really enjoyed using. I have it in shade Birthday Suit which is pretty similar in colour to Mac's Faux lipstick.
This product is incredibly budget friendly, coming in at just £4.99. Considering I usually pay around £14-15 for my lipsticks, I'm pretty happy with this kind of price. I don't think the packaging looks particularly cheap either which is always a bonus.
The solution itself is a good consistency, it's quite thick but not thick enough that it takes days to dry. Although it does take longer than I would sometimes like, its not as bad as others I have previously used. Once applied and dried I think the product lasts a good amount of time on my lips. I have eaten and drank with this lipstick on before and by the end of my meal I've still got pretty pink lips. It doesn't come of in patches either which I've found with others I've tried in the past.
My only real issue with this lippy is the applicator. It's a long straight applicator unlike any I've used in the past and it makes it quite tricky to apply the product. If it was rounded at the end I wouldn't find myself accidently overdrawing my lips every time I use it.
Overall its a pretty decent product. It lasts quite a while on my lips and the price is great for the quality you receive. Although I will always choose regular lipsticks over liquid versions, this is the best liquid lipstick I've used so far!

I wasn't actually going to post this here as it's part of my final project for Uni, but as this is kind of a fashion blog I thought it might fit nicely. Last week I took to the streets of Birmingham to photograph pretty much anyone around my age who was willing. There's some really fashionable girlies in Brum and here are just a selection of them! Enjoy!
I hope you liked my photos, it's the fist time I've ever photographed street style before so to say I was nervous about it was an understatement. Everyone I spoke to was super nice though and only 1 lady out of the 15 I asked said no to having her photograph taken which I thought was a good ratio.
This post is literally what it says on the tin; a massive wishlist full of all things pink! If you know me you know I love anything pink, so I thought I would put a little list together and hope I don't buy the lot. There is a tonne of stuff to scroll through here so get yourself comfy!

So you might be wondering why I've been featuring a lot of wishlists lately and the truth is that I'm struggling to make time to blog. Uni is really getting on top of me at the moment but I don't want to give up posting twice a week. I love putting wishlists together and they don't usually take me more than an hour or so to create, so thats why you've been seeing them a lot recently. I'm trying not to make a habit of this and regular blogging will resume as soon as I've handed all my coursework in!

So this product has been in my 'to use' pile for quite some time now. I've been meaning to test it out for ages but I finally got around to opening it a few weeks back and I've been using it on and off since.
About the product
The Night-Time Facial is an anti-aging product that claims to 'boost cell vitality whilst delivering luscious moisture'. The treatment should leave your skin soft, smooth, and moisturised with visibly reduced fine lines. So does it work? As I'm still fairly young I can't really judge its anti-wrinkle claims however I can put the rest of it to the test.
Does it work?
I had been very excited to try this product out, its not everyday I get to trial high end skincare even if it is sample size. I have noticed though that sometimes when I'm overly keen to try out something new I think I end up brainwashing myself into believing its amazing, even when its not, but this was not the case with this facial at all.
I don't think I've ever been so indifferent to a product before. Yes it's slightly moisturising and maybe my skin felt a little bit softer than it did the night before but the changes were so slight I could barely notice them. For a product that almost burns when it seeps into the skin I expected much more obvious results.

Price
The Night-Time Facial retails at roughly £30 for a 40ml tube. I'm sorry but at that kind of price and for those kind of results I'm going to stick to cleansing my face well and applying a good moisturiser. I'm not sure how anyone could justify that kind of cash on an okay product.

What did I think?
Its not a bad product but its not a good one either. Maybe I didn't use it regularly enough or maybe it just didn't work with my skin type but I really don't think I'd be buying it again.
I hate writing negative product reviews but sometimes things just don't live up to my expectations and as a beauty blogger its kind of up to me to talk about the good and the bad equally.
I've love to know if you've tried this product before. Let me know if you got on with it better than me!

Online Surveys - Again, this won't make you a millionaire but it might buy you a few treats. At the moment I'm using a site called yougov.co.uk which gives you points every time you complete a survey. Once you have 5000 points you get £50. The majority of surveys will earn you 50 points although some give you more. If you're the gambling type you can enter prize draws using your points and you could win up to £2000.
Money Jars - Okay so this isn't really earning money but it does help save a little bit. I have two money jars, one is for coppers and one is for money I find. Every week or so I'll empty my 1ps and 2ps into my jar and beg everyone in my house for pennies. It does soon fill up so I'll count it up and take it to the bank a few times a year. My found money jar is just that, money that I find on my travels. I'll save that up too and count it once a year.
Student Loan - If you haven't guessed already, this is where the majority of my money is coming from. Although it's not technically earned, I still treat it as a wage. I'm dreading the day I have to pay this back but honestly right now its such a life line. I wouldn't have been able to quit my job without it and my studies would have seriously suffered. If you are applying to start university in September it might be worth finding out if you are also eligible for any grants that you don't have to pay back.
So that's how I'm surviving right now. I hope this has given a few like minded students some ideas of how to make a few quid. Let me know if you have any tips on making money when you don't have the time to work!
I love a bit of sparkle, I think most girls do, and when it comes to metallics I don't think you can ever have too much. Whoever said less is more was obviously a boring little shit, so to prove them wrong here are 36 metallic items you need right now!

'How long did it take you to find all of these metallic things' you ask? Too bloody long believe me, but how gorgeous is everything here? I don't think my love affair with shiny things will ever come to an end and I'm okay with that!
Are you still loving metallics or do you think they start to loose their sparkle once the festive season is over?

So on Sunday - without any sort of plan at all - me and Sean set off for Bristol. It's only an hour and a half from Birmingham, and as we'd never been before we thought we would give it a go. We're trying to see as much of the UK as we can at the moment 'cause like I said in my previous post, once we're all moved out and poor we won't be able to travel much. I also just want to apologise for the grainy iPhone photos, I was not getting my camera out in this rain!
So as we knew nothing about Bristol we found the most central car park we could find and hoped for the best. As it turned out we managed to park on the biggest most beautiful shopping centre I'd ever seen; Cabot Circus. Seriously this place knocks spots off the Bullring! We grabbed some lunch and had a nose around for a couple of hours. Cabot Circus has a few shops that we don't over here in Brum; Monki and Pull & Bear just to name a couple.
After wandering around the shops for a while we decided to try and find the harbour which was a lot closer than we realised. There were several stalls lining the harbour which we browsed before coming across a few boat trips. We love boat trips, if there's one thing I have to do whilst travelling it's go on a boat. So we waited for the next one to come along and off we went.
The trip was quite short at around 45 minutes but we learnt a lot. As first time visitors to Bristol it was great to have a little history lesson and have a few prominent places pointed out to us. Despite the rain I loved every second of touring around the canals and I'd love to come back in the summer to do the 6 hour trip to Bath!
After departing we wanted to have a look a Bristols oldest street which was pointed out to us on the boat. We started walking towards it but by this time we were absolutely soaking from the rain. Determined to not let it ruin our day we stopped off for a quick hot chocolate to warm ourselves back up. We'd unknowingly popped into a hostel which honestly looked fab. We didn't even realise it was a hostel until we spotted it marked on a map but both me and Sean agreed we would give it a go if we were ever back this way again.
Full of yummy hot chocolate and a little bit drier we carried on walking the soggy streets until we found Bristols oldest road. I'm not sure what we expected but it was just a bunch of pubs! Sounds about right for Britain though. By now it was getting on a bit and I really wanted to see the Clifton Suspension Bridge as I wasn't sure when I would get the chance again. We wandered back to the car and headed off.
The rain was still pretty torrential by the time we got up to the observatory which was conveniently closed. This didn't matter too much as our view looking over the bridge was just fantastic. I never thought I'd be into bridges but this really is one fantastic piece of construction! We snapped a few quick photos and headed down to actually walk over the bridge. After taking in the views and capturing a few more grainy images we decided to head back into the centre for tea.
We really wanted to eat at the harbour as we had enjoyed walking around there earlier and after weighing up our options we settled on a place called The Stable. It serves pizza, pie, and cider and seemed like a pretty safe choice to be honest. The wait on food was kind of annoying but once it actually arrived both me and Sean enjoyed our chosen pizzas. I opted for some strange vegan concoction while Sean chose a rabbit pizza. I actually tried the tiniest piece of rabbit and I thought I was going to be sick, I'll stick to chicken from now on.
We headed home around 8pm but we didn't have far to drive so we didn't mind too much. All in all Bristol was fab. It actually reminded me a bit of Amsterdam and we all know how much love I have for that city. Despite the rain we had a lovely day and now I know why the locals refer to this pretty little place as Brizzle.
I'm looking for more UK cities to visit in the next couple of months, I'd love to hear about your favourite places! Let me know where you think I should go next in the comments or over on twitter!
