Early last month I visited the beautiful new Oxford Street Lush store. I had a strict budget as I'd only just got back from Amsterdam and payday seem so far away so I just picked up a few items. As always when I visit any Lush store I headed straight to the bath bomb area which is why most of the products in this little Lush haul are bath products!

Here's what I picked up in my mini Lush haul...

1. Monsier Gustave Bath Oil - This little cutie was only £2 and I thought it was a great cheaper alternative to the bath bombs. It is very small but It smelt amazing and it was a lovely glittery purple colour so I had to pick it up.

2. Golden Handshake - I'd never seen anything like this before and having super dry hands like I do I really wanted to try it out. You stir this little product around in a large bowl of hot water until it turns into a thick cream. You then sock your hands in it to leave them feeling super soft. This treatment costs £2.95 which I didn't think was too bad.

3. I Am A Radiant Being Bath Oil - This is very similar to the first product only its pink and star shaped. I picked this up at the till like the little impulse buyer I am. It was only £2 and again it smelt really good. This product contains Geranium, Rose and Lemon oils so if you're into your sweet floral smells this is definitely the product for you!

4. Milky Bar Bubble Bar - So I cheated a bit with this one. I actually bought it back from Amsterdam with me as I didn't know when I would be able to get one again so I thought I'd just throw in into this haul. The label is all in dutch so I don't actually know what's in it but I do know that it smells pretty and being a bubble bar I will probably get a couple uses out of it!

Have you tried any of these Lush products before? I've love to hear what you thought about them! Let me know in the comments below or we could have a chat over on Twitter!

MINI LUSH HAUL

This month it was pretty hard to narrow down all of my new products to just four. I was lucky enough to have received a lot of new products for my birthday and I was given a goodie bag full of treats at the Pegasus Beauty Showcase, so I had a lot to try out.

Here are my September beauty favourites...

A BOTTLE OF COLLECTION FOUNDATION

Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation - This was actually given to me when I attended the Pegasus event last month and it's been my 'go to' foundation ever since. For the last couple of years I haven't really worn anything other then BB cream so I was a bit dubious about wearing this foundation, especially as it was on the cheaper side. I honestly don't know what I was worried about as its a really good match to my skin and it doesn't feel greasy at all on my face. I think it retails at around £5 so for a product of this size I think its an absolute bargain!

A TUBE OF PURPLE MAC LIPSTICK

Mac Matte Lipstick in shade Men Love Mystery - I picked this little beauty up in the airport on the way to Amsterdam in August and I've gotten a fair bit of use out of it so far. Although it's not an everyday lipstick I do love wearing it especially when my hair is looking really purple. The colour lasts all day and even after I've eaten it still looks pretty vivid. Even though its a matte lipstick it doesn't leave my lips looking or feeling dry which is always a worry when buying non shiny lipsticks. If you are looking for something a bit different I would definitely recommend this lippy which retails at around £15 in regular stores or £12 in duty free.

A TUBE OF PURPLE HAIR DYE

Knight & Wilson Colour Freedom in Mystic Purple - You might have noticed my hair has had a pinky purple tint to it over the last few weeks and that would be down to this product. I'm pretty sure its a new product as I'd never seen it in superdrug before but after using it a couple of times I've already repurchased another one. It retails at around £5 which isn't bad at all for a tube this size and honestly the colour sticks around for quite a long time too. I tend to mix this with a blue die to get a more lilac colour and I love the results.

A TUBE OF BENEFIT ROLLER LASH MASCARA

Benefit Roller Lash - I'm sure you're all sick of seeing this but it's by far the best mascara I have ever used and I had a new one for my birthday. It sells for around £20 which I think is pretty expensive but its so worth it. I've never known a mascara give me such long full lashes so I don't really mind forking out for it. I do think it's pretty hard to wipe away though so investing in a good makeup remover is necessary if you're thinking of buying it. Even though it's quite a pricey product I couldn't recommend it enough and I'm sure I will buy it again when I finish this tube.

So those were last months favorites! Let me know what you've been loving lately in the comments!

SEPTEMBER BEAUTY FAVOURITES

This isn't so much a hotel review, I stayed here for my birthday and frankly I was enjoying it too much to be taking notes, I did however think it deserved its own blog post. As a few of you may know if you read my birthday post, Sean treated me to a night in one of their gorgeous suites. I've wanted to stay in the Burlington Hotel for ages, and so I was really excited to finally get inside...

We actually stayed in the Isaac Horton suite which is huge and has its own living room! I'd never stayed in a room this big before and I loved every second of it. The room featured 2 tv's, a mini bar, multiple cupboards and wardrobes, a gorgeous dressing table and one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen. It had everything you needed to feel comfortable including tea and coffee, biscuits, a bottle of spring water, and some lovely mini toiletries.

The view was also a bonus. I love to be high up and nothing makes me happier than looking out over a city. Although we weren't up in the clouds our room was on a corner with several windows so we got a great view of Birmingham.

While we were there Sean treated us to a bottle of champagne. It was bought up to us by room service in a bucket of ice which was replaced later in the night free of charge. As it was my birthday and all I wanted to do was relax and enjoy myself, I ran a bath using the lavender bubble bath shown above. It smelt amazing and I easily spent an hour lying in the bath sipping on the champagne Sean bought.

Unfortunately while we were there the elevator broke and we had to take the stairs. It was a bit of a walk up to the 4th floor but who can complain when the staircase looks so amazing. The whole hotel had a country estate feel but with the convenience of being in the city and you definitely feel like a VIP when you stay here.

I also thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. When you arrive to breakfast you are given the option to have a full English brought to you or you can help yourself to the continental breakfast buffet. Me and Sean both opted for continental as we can't resist a bit of cheese and ham and although we had to wait a while for the ham to be put out it was worth it. I made up a ham and cheese bagel and honestly it was the best bagel I've ever eaten in my whole life.

I really enjoyed staying at the Burlington hotel and I'd like to stay there again for another special occasion.

I'd love to read your hotel recommendations or reviews! Tweet me or leave a comment below with your favorite places to stay!

BURLINGTON HOTEL BIRMINGHAM

Day 1 - A few months back Me, Sean and a few family members decided to go on a camping weekend. I'd never been camping before so I was excited but slightly nervous as I didnt know what to expect. We drove down on the friday night after we had all finished work. By the time we arrived at our camp (just outside Tewksbury) the sun was setting and it was time to grab some grub. We set up a little BBQ and bought some meat from the owner of the camp. We cooked our burgers, had a little drinky and then me and Sean went on a little midnight walk.

Day 2 - The next morning we woke up mildly refreshed after our less than comfortable night on the blow up beds. We decided to head to a couple of local national trust properties as we weren't really sure what to do and we are all new members.

Our first stop was at a a huge roman villa. I cant remember what it was called but it was literally in the middle of nowhere. There wasn't really all that much to look at and honestly the tour was too boring for words so we headed off to look for the next property. The next place we arrived at was a small country estate which I've just realized I didn't take any photos of. There didn't seem to be much here either really. We decided to head back to the camp and grab some more BBQ stuff on the way home. Me and Sean also picked up a couple of adult colouring books and spent a few hours working on those while we waited for the fire to heat up.
It was then time for BBQ number 2 and a little walk over the fields before turning in for the night.

Day 3 - This was our last day. We woke up, made some bacon baps and started to pack the tent up. This was the only day we had actually planned and the day I was most looking forward to. A few months back we had decided to go to Tewkesbury Medieval Festival. We went last year and really enjoyed it so we wanted to go back and take Sean with us this time. If you've never heard about the festival I wrote a little post on it last year, you can read that here.

It was a really good day, the best part easily being the huge battle reenactment. We all went for a meal at the local Wetherspoons (obviously) and headed back home.

I really enjoyed the whole weekend and I would love to go camping again next year. I've love to hear your camping tips/ favorite places to camp in the UK!
