Instead of booking a fancy hotel or doing anything typically seen as romantic, me and Sean decided that this Valentine's Day we would go to Warwick Castle. Sean had never been before and it's not even an hour away, so we hopped on the train and spent the day there.
After getting a bit confused with the trains we eventually turned up in Warwick just before 10. It was only a short walk to the castle and we were there before we knew it. I took so many photos of our day!
As it was a bit cold we decided to start with the Great Hall and State rooms. When you walk into the Great Hall you feel like you've just stepped into a set from Game Of Thrones. The walls are decorated with all types of vicious weapons and there's a huge fire on the far side heating the whole room and filling it with a gorgeous toasty scent. We spent a lot of time in here over the course of the day warming our hands up by the fire only to feel even colder when we stepped outside again.
The state rooms were just as impressive, each uniquely decorated to its owners tastes. I think my favorite room was the library which was full of books that were literally hundreds of years old.
We then headed down to the river to watch the 'Trebuchet Fireball Spectacular'. If you've never seen a Trebuchet before, I suggest you Google it as I can't put into words just how impressive they are. Although I felt like they dragged it out a bit, I thought the show was really good and well worth going to watch if you are ever there.
After that we walked back up to the main part of the castle and started our ascent to the highest tower. A few thousand steps later we were taking in the views over Warwick and trying our best to get a few decent pictures. It was a really windy and humid day so my hair was being a bit crazy but I wanted a few selfies anyway.
As we were starting to get the munchies by now we rushed through the 'King Maker' exhibition and went on the hunt for some lunch. After scoffing down a hot dog each it was time to head back down to the river to watch the Bowman Show. The show was really interesting and the Bowman himself was hilarious, mixing his performance with fun facts and jokes. Although his archery skills were a little rusty I really enjoyed the show and the comedy aspect definitely made up for it.
By this time we had seen pretty much everything apart from the Birds of Prey show, so we headed over to the Great Hall to keep ourselves warm until it started. This show was also really impressive, showcasing some of the biggest birds I had ever seen. One by one these huge birds flew over our heads showing off their enormous size and strength. As this was the last show of the day we decided it was time to head home via the gift shop.
As usual we hunted down the local Wetherspoons and enjoyed a tasty meal before checking the train times and going back to Birmingham. The shops were still open when we arrived so we couldn't help but have a little look. I tried on a few pretty sale pieces while Sean sneaked off to the Pandora shop to buy me the most beautiful pink and silver ring which I will post about in the next few days!
I hope you all had a great Valentines Day, whatever you decided to do!

I have a habit of picking up free stuff. If it's free I'll probably take it and that's exactly how I came to own this little nail varnish. It came, with a few other treats, in my Clothes Show Live goody bag back in December.
I've only just got around to using it so here's what I thought of the Models Own Nail Varnish in Candy Blue...
I didn't really like the colour at first, I'm more into my golds and pinks but I thought I might warm to it, I didn't. The colour is just too bright for me and doesn't really go with any of my clothes so I wouldn't use it again based on just that. That's not really a review as such, just my own personal taste.
The actual varnish itself is a really good quality. It's a the perfect consistency, not too thick and gloopy but not runny either. The brush inside is also a good quality and makes applying the varnish really easy. I would definitely consider buying more Models Own nail varnish if they are all as easy to apply as this one is.
The staying power is pretty good too, I managed to go a few days before it started to chip and that's a long time for me. With a lot of the more budget nail varnishes I buy, I tend to see chipping by the second day so to get past that with intact nail varnish is a good sign.
Apart from the colour the main downside for me was how hard it was to remove. Its a bugger to get off your nails and you really have to scrub at them for a while before the polish shows signs of moving. I was silly enough not to use a base coat before painting my nails and now they are stained blue. I'll admit it was partly my own fault for not using a base coat, but also I don't tend to had have this problem with any of my other nail varnishes.
All in all its a pretty decent nail varnish. I wouldn't use it again as I don't like the colour but I would try out other shades from the range. If you do buy this nail varnish I can't stress enough how important it is to apply a base coat first else you will end up with permanently blue nails too! Overall I would give it a 3/10 as it just wasn't for me.
Have you tried any of the Models Own nail varnishes? What did you think about them?

You won't have seen a Look Fantastic beauty box on my blog before. After canceling my Glossybox I wanted to try out a different beauty box, one without a subscription. I first heard about the Look Fantastic box on instagram after browsing through #bbloggers. I instantly appealed to me after I noticed it contained my all time favorite moisturizer. After a quick search I was soon typing in my bank details to order my first Look Fantastic box.
So here is what I received in my January Look Fantastic Beauty Box...
1. &2. Michael Van Clarke 3 More Inches - I always love trying out new hair care products and I was thrilled when I opened the box to discover these beauty's. The shampoo and conditioner set are meant to rebuild hair helping it grow and leaving it looking stronger. I've never heard of this brand before but I'm really excited to give these a go and I will definitely post the results here!
3. Molton Brown Templetree Body Wash - Molton Brown is a name associated with luxury bath products so I was happy to receive my very own mini body wash. I don't often use expensive shower gels, I mostly grab the cheapest, perfume free gel I can find. Although I'm worried it might upset my eczema I'm still really looking forward to trying out this gorgeous smelling body wash.
4. Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defense - I've used Philip Kingsley products before and I was quite impressed. As I have very dry hair and I regularly straighten it, I always need to use a heat defense product. I've swore by the TRESemme heat protection spray for years and it will be nice to try something new to see how it compares.
5. Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche - This is one of the best moisturizers I've ever used. It smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling really soft, so when I saw it was in this months box I had to buy it. The creme on its own retails at around £18 for 50ml and this box is only £15 so I got a huge bargain! If you ever get a chance I highly recommend you give this a go as its just so amazing.
So that was my January Look Fantastic Box. I'm going to be giving beauty boxes a miss for a while as I'm trying for save for a holiday and these really aren't a necessity. When I get chance I will definitely be trying out another Look Fantastic Box so keep a lookout!
What did you think of the products in this months Look Fantastic box? Have you tried any of these products out before?

Another month, another Glossybox subscription. This is the January box and the last one I will be writing about as I've decided to cancel my subscription. Over the last few months I have received some wonderful products but I as money's been quite tight it was time to cancel. I've written a little piece on beauty box subscriptions and if they are worth it, you can read that here.
So this is what I received in my January Glossybox...
1. Kueshi Cosmetics Revitalizing Face Toner - So I've used this a few times now and I can't even begin to explain how much I love it. It smells amazing and makes your skin feel so soft. I'd never heard of this brand before but I would love to try out other products from their range.
2. Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow - Another highlighter. I don't know how many the people at Glossybox think I need but this is the third. I don't use highlighters very often and I probably won't use this one. Although it does look like a good quality product it will more than likely end up on eBay.
3. Me Me Me Eye Liner Pencil in Clay - I've used a couple of products from Me Me Me before and I've always been impressed. I'm looking forward to trying out this eye liner as it's not a colour I would usually pick and it will be nice to use something different.
4. Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm Superfruits - I love lip balm, I wear it every day and I am always welcoming new ones into my collection. I've never heard of Naked Lips before but I'm excited to try this out as my lips have been super dry lately. This lip balm is made from all natural ingredients which is always a bonus with beauty products.
5. Nicka K New York Colorluxe Powder Blush - I never really use blush, I have quite naturally red cheeks and I've never needed it. I'm starting to get more confident with using blushers and bronzers lately but I really don't think this product is for me. This blush comes in a cute little pot with a mirror on the top and I'm sure my sister will get plenty of use out of it, I'll let you know what she thinks!
So that was my January Glossybox. This is the last Glossybox I will be writing about but don't worry I have lots of product reviews lined up for the next few weeks!
I've love to know what you guys thought of think months box, let me know on the comments or over on twitter!
