Online Surveys - Again, this won't make you a millionaire but it might buy you a few treats. At the moment I'm using a site called yougov.co.uk which gives you points every time you complete a survey. Once you have 5000 points you get £50. The majority of surveys will earn you 50 points although some give you more. If you're the gambling type you can enter prize draws using your points and you could win up to £2000.
Money Jars - Okay so this isn't really earning money but it does help save a little bit. I have two money jars, one is for coppers and one is for money I find. Every week or so I'll empty my 1ps and 2ps into my jar and beg everyone in my house for pennies. It does soon fill up so I'll count it up and take it to the bank a few times a year. My found money jar is just that, money that I find on my travels. I'll save that up too and count it once a year.
Student Loan - If you haven't guessed already, this is where the majority of my money is coming from. Although it's not technically earned, I still treat it as a wage. I'm dreading the day I have to pay this back but honestly right now its such a life line. I wouldn't have been able to quit my job without it and my studies would have seriously suffered. If you are applying to start university in September it might be worth finding out if you are also eligible for any grants that you don't have to pay back.
So that's how I'm surviving right now. I hope this has given a few like minded students some ideas of how to make a few quid. Let me know if you have any tips on making money when you don't have the time to work!
