A couple of months ago me, my mom and my dad took a trip to Charlecote Park in Warwick. We've all recently signed up to the National Trust and we are determined to get a lot of use out of it. Call me boring but I love walking around old buildings and gardens, so being a National Trust member suits me perfectly.

Charlecote Park is around a half an hour drive away from our house so wandering around the house and gardens was an easy way to kill a few hours on a lazy Sunday. The gardens are beautiful and the grounds which are perfectly landscaped host dozens of free roaming deer. We actually managed to walk pretty close to the deer which was a lovely surprise. Pigs are also kept at Charlecote but they aren't half as pretty to look at.

The house is a lot bigger than it looks at first and it is still lived in today so you can only see certain rooms. The rooms are all decorated to look how they would in the Victorian era and most rooms had a volunteer ready to tell you all about it. My favorite room was the huge library which I completely forgot to photograph as I was too busy eyeing up the books. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they have some of the original books by the Bronte sisters.

After wandering around the house for a while we headed over to the gatehouse which features an extensive taxidermy collection. I'd never really seen any taxidermy in real life before but after seeing their collection I would love to get a stag head for my wall.

I really enjoyed spending a few hours at Charlecote Park and were all going to go back near Christmas time as they decorate the house with traditional Victorian Christmas decorations.

CHARLECOTE PARK

Okay I know I'm a little bit late with this post, but I'm still getting back into the swing of blogging after my little break. I didn't really buy that much last month and I didn't really try many new products either so I only really have these 3 things to write about. My august beauty favorites will be a lot more interesting as I received so many pretty little products for my birthday that I can't wait to try out!

So here are my July beauty favourites...

an image showing the L'oreal Nude Rose Palette, the body shop tea tree scrub, and the body shop BB cream

1. The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky Clean Scrub - Sean actually treated me to this a few months back and I haven't stopped using it since. I've never really had bad skin, but this warm muggy weather we've been having lately does make me occasionally break out so this stuff has been a godsend. It smells amazing and I feel like I get a really good cleanse because of the exfoliating beads. I think it's a little pricey at £6.50 but I would 100% recommend it and I will definitely be repurchasing when I run out!

2. L'Oreal Paris La Palette Nude in Rose - I'm sure you are all fed up of seeing this palette by now but its played such a major part in my makeup this month. I wrote a very short post about it here when I first got it and I knew then I would love it. I think the colours are all so vivid and long lasting and there are so many looks you can create with just this palette. The only thing that would have made this better would be a nude matte shade, but i'm really happy with the range of nudes and pinks already in the palette. It was only £15 too which I think is great considering the quality of the eyeshadows.

3. The Body Shop BB Cream in shade #01 - So I don't wear this everyday, I usually just put a fine layer of powder over my face and I'm good to go, but if I want more coverage use this first. I much prefer BB Creams to foundations, I don't like to smother my face in too much product and to be honest I don't often feel like I need the coverage. I don't actually have the full sized version of this product, I'm still working my way through a sample size I picked up in store but I'm sure I will be purchasing the full sized product when this runs out. I usually add a little to my hand and mix in a small amount of moisturizer as I like the glow it gives me. It's usually quite long lasting, it gives a good coverage and I don't feel the need to top up, even after a long day.

So those were my absolute favorite products from last month. I'm hoping to do a full review of the Body Shop face wash in the next couple of weeks because it honestly deserves a whole post dedicated to it. I also want to show you a few makeup looks and 'face of the day' posts using my new L'Oreal Palette, I'm so not sorry if you are bored of looking at it!

JULY BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Jetting off in a plane or heading down the motorway to a little seaside town, sometimes traveling to your chosen destination can get a bit tedious. I love traveling, I always have and long journeys don't faze me at all. I'm more than happy to relax with a glass of wine and look out the window at the clouds below, but I like flying, or at least I did till I watched too much Air Crash Investigation!

I'm absolutely in my element when I'm traveling somewhere new, but long journeys aren't for everyone so I thought I would share my tips on keeping busy when travelling!

How to keep busy on long journeys...

A FLATLAY IMAGE OF VARIOUS ITEMS I TAKE ON LONG JOURNEYS WITH ME. THE ITEMS INCLUDE A PHONE, A COLOURING BOOK, A MAGAZINE, A TOUR GUIDE BOOK AND MAKEUP

Read - Getting lost in a good book is always a good way to kill a few hours no matter where you are. Time seems to just disappear when I'm reading so I always take a book or magazine on holiday with me. If fictions not your thing why not pick up a travel guide? Its always a good idea to do a bit of research on where you're staying and reading about it while you're on your way will only make you more excited. If you just fancy a light read I would recommend picking up a magazine to keep you busy on your travels. My local airport is quite big and has a lot of shops so I always pick up a few free magazines including the Boots mag which is usually a good read!

A CLOSE UP SHOT OF THE MOBILE PHONE WHICH IS PLAYING MUSIC. THE ITUNE APP IS OPEN ON SCREEN

Pamper yourself - So your going to have a few hours where you cant do anything but sit still? Why don't you skip the early morning make up routine and do it on the plane! This tip isn't for everyone but if you don't mind spending a few hours without makeup, you can have extra time in bed and keep yourself busy for however long you want to. I've also painted my nails on the plane quite a few times. Although my nail painting skills are horrific and I always look like I've just stuck my fingers in the pot, this could work for someone who takes a little more care.

Draw - If you have a creative mind why not take a sketchbook or better yet a colouring book! You might have seen my many posts on Instagram about my amazing adult colouring book, but I love it. There's so many beautiful pictures and prints to colour in, its kept me busy for hours. I'm definitely going to be taking my colouring book away with me next time I jet off and I'm sure Sean will bring his too! The only downside with this one is how much space they take up but I think they are worth taking if you can spare the room!

ANOTHER SHOT OF THE ITEMS, THIS TIME FOCUSSING ON THE MAKEUP WHICH INCLUDES A LIPSTICK, A MASCARA, A LIP BALM AND MORE

Listen to music - For me nothing kills time faster than a few good songs. I'm always listening to music weather I'm on a long journey or a short bus ride, it makes it just a little more pleasant. Just spend a bit of time before you go downloading all your favorite songs so you have something nice and new to listen to. Why not create a holiday playlist? Whenever you hear those songs it will instantly take you back to your holiday and all those good memories. If your going in the car you could make a few holiday themed CDs to listen to on the way down that way you wont be using all your phone battery. And if you're travelling by plane and your phone suddenly dies, don't worry, a lot of airlines have radio stations to listen to if you plug your headphones into your seat.

That's about all I cant think of for now. I'm definitely going to be using these tips just next time I jet off, and of course I'll be treating myself to a few glasses of that wine! I really hope you all found these tips helpful and I'd love to hear some of the things you do to keep busy on long journeys. If there's anything you think should have made the list leave it in the comment section below!

HOW TO KEEP BUSY ON LONG JOURNEYS

Can we all take a moment to take in the absolute beauty of this little makeup Palette. The Nude Rose L'oreal palette has only been in my possession a week and I already know it's going to be my favorite product of 2015.

L'oreal PAris La Palette Nude Rose RRP £15.00

I first came across this palette when I tweeted Leanne Woodfull to see what she had been wearing on her eyes as she traveled Europe. Well it turned out to be this beauty and I knew I had to have it. A little Superdrug order later and it was on its way to me.

I haven't managed to test out all of the shades yet but I'm in love with the darker matte pink shades. I'm used to wearing very girly very glittery eyeshadow and using shades in this palette is  bug change for me, but one i'm very happy to accept. Unfortunately I don't really have any lipsticks that compliment these eyeshadows so until I can get my hands on a new lippy ( Velvet Teddy I'm looking at you) I have been using the eyeshadow on my lips too. I dab a bit of eyeshadow over a thin layer of Carmex which gives a surprisingly nice look, and it lasts a lot longer than I thought it would too.

I'm really looking forward to playing around with this palette as there are just so many looks you can create with it. It's a very versatile product that I could use day or night and I can easily see it becoming a staple item in my makeup bag.

I'm going to me writing another post in the next few weeks with swatches of the eyeshadows and different looks using my favorite shades!

Have you tried this palette? What did you think?
