So here is the August Glossybox. This months box celebrated the 3 year anniversary of the Glossybox and I have to admit I was slightly disappointed. The box itself has been swapped for a slightly smaller and cheaper looking one but that wasn't a big issue, however considering this is an anniversary box I thought they might have gone all out with the products.

Although I did expect more from this months box I'm still looking forward to trying out all my new products.

So here's what I got in my August Glossybox...

THE BEAUTY PRODUCTS I RECEIVED IN THE AUGUST GLOSSYBOX

1. Lalique L'Amour - I'm one of those girls who has her favorite perfumes she always sticks to but I actually really like this one. I've never heard of this brand before but I'm looking forward to using this little sample. I tested it when I first got the box and it smelt lovely, although I probably won't be buying a the full product just yet as its a little pricey for me.

2. Yves Rocher Pink Nail Polish - When I first opened the box I was happy to see this little pink nail varnish. Although I was slightly disappointed at the size, I love the shade and I'm tempted to paint my nails with it for my holiday next week. I will definitely be doing a review of this, so keep a lookout!

3. Essence Longlasting Lipstick in #7 Natural Beauty - When I saw I had a lipstick it this months box I was a little apprehensive as I  had received one before that didn't suit me at all. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I took the lid off. It's a lovely subtle shade that will be perfect for everyday use. Although I haven't tried it yet, it's not too different from the shades I usually use so I'm excited to try it.

4. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - I'm really really excited to try this out. I always love trying out new hair products and I cant wait to give this one a go. It was originally created for Audrey Hepburn and its meant to give your hair more bounce and shine. Here's hoping it makes my hair happy.

5. Kryolan Highlighter Cashmere - I was sent a highlighter a few boxes back and I love it. It will take a lot for this highlighter to even come close to my current one but either way I'll give it a go.

6. Figs & Rouge Mini Hand Cream - I'm slightly apprehensive about trying this one out. I have quite bad eczema and I have to be very careful with what I put on my skin. Although I usually use prescription creams on my hands I'm still going to try it and see how it goes.

So that is what I received in  my August Glossybox! I'll be reviewing these products in the next few so keep a lookout!

AUGUST GLOSSYBOX

For my birthday Sean bought me three lovely Bourjois eye shadows, in pink, purple and gold. I don't think I'd ever used any of the Bourjois eyeshadows before so it was nice to try out a new brand! Today I'm going to review my favorite of the three Bourjois eyeshadows - the gold one.

I've been using this eyeshadow most days since I got it and I'm absolutely in love with it. It is a really really sparkly girly eyeshadow and its just perfect for me. I thought It would be more vivid than it is and I was slightly disappointed when I first tried it, But after using it a few times I decided I preferred it being less obvious as I could wear it every day. I usually just brush it lightly over my eyelids for a really faint sparkle but for nights out I brush it over a plain gold eye shadow for a really glittery effect.

One of the things I love about this eye shadow is the mirror in the lid. This is the only eye shadow (apart from my pallets) I own with a mirror in it and that's great for when I'm out and about. I'm not sure why other brands haven't added a mirror into any of the eyeshadow singles because it looks nice and it's super useful too!

I don't know how much the Bourjois eyeshadow singles are as they were a gift but I would say they are worth investing in as they are a staple product in your make-up bag.

Overall I really enjoyed using this product and would give it a 7/10

Have you tried out any of the Bourjois eyeshadow singles? What did you think of them?

REVIEW | BOURJOIS EYESHADOW SINGLE IN GOLD

Another month and any round up of my favourite beauty goodies! This months beauty roundup features a few treats from my July Glossybox which was packed out with great beauty products for me to try.

So which beauty products have I been loving this month...

A COLLAGE OF MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY PRODUCTS THROUGHOUT JULY

1. Pro:voke Touch Of Silver Shampoo - I use any basic blonde dye to lighten my hair, but this doesn't always leave it looking that natural. I often get brassy yellow tones and the best thing to fix that is this shampoo. I've tried cheaper versions of silver shampoo and honestly nothing comes close to this stuff.

2. B. Quick #157 Cosmical Nail Varnish - I received this nail varnish in one of my glossy boxes and I'm in love with the colour. It doesn't stay on and long as I would like but as been as I usually paint my nails to look nice for one night, this doesn't bother me all that much.

3. Carmex Classic Lip Balm - This is another glossybox goody that I've taken a liking too, I think I've actually used it everyday since getting it. This is one of those products I can not recommend enough. It literally stays on for so long, I put it on before work and its still on after my shift is finished!

4. Absolute Eye shadow Primer - oh dear, yet another glossybox item. I'd been after a primer for so long. I have fairly veiny eyebrows, so any help in hiding that is appreciated. The primer works really well and stops my eye shadow forming wrinkles on my lids. I don't really have anything to compare it to but so far I'm happy!

Okay so I know I said I wouldn't get getting any more Glossy Boxes but I couldn't help myself. In all honestly I forgot to cancel my subscription and this month's Glossybox was America themed so I couldn't resist.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Ltd Mineral Lipstick - I was really excited when I found out I would be receiving a lipstick in this months Glossy Box. This brand is apparently an American favorite so I'm looking forward to using it.

ABSOLUTE New York Perfecting Eye shadow Primer - I've been after a primer for so so long and now I finally have one! I've used it a few times now and I'm really happy with it so far.

Carmex Lip Balm - I was so happy when I received this lip balm. I've heard nothing but good reviews about it and from using it a few times I can see why everyone raves about it!

Colour Club Glossy Seal Nail Varnish - This shade of nail varnish was created specifically for Glossy Box and although I'm not the biggest fan of this colour, I'll still give it a go.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara - I'm slightly disappointed that I've received another Mascara this month. I have one make of mascara that I always buy so this one will have to be amazing to top that.

Have you tried a glossybox or another beauty box subscription before? What did you think?

JULY GLOSSYBOX

Last Sunday, Me Mom Dad and Hannah all went to the medieval festival at Tewkesbury. I'd never been before and had one of Dads customers not mentioned it, we still wouldn't even know it existed! As Tewksbury is less than an hours drive from Birmingham we thought it would be nice to pop down for the day and see what the festival was all about.

TEWKESBURY MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL ENTRANCE
TEWKESBURY MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL BATTLE REENACTMENT

Every year Tewkesbury hosts the largest medieval reenactment in Europe. It's a free event and it is huge! Thousands of traders and reenactment enthusiasts come together, with many camping overnight in medieval style tents, wearing, eating and using only things that would have been available at the time. We spoke to people from all over Europe who had traveled miles to come to the event.

The festival is based around a famous battle that occurred here in 1471 between the house's of York and Lancaster during the War of the Roses.

There were all sorts of things happening throughout the day, however the thing we were most excited for was the battle reenactment. Many of the enthusiasts gear up and reenact the battle, and believe me they really go for it. Both sides, armed with guns, bows and arrows and swords charge at each other 'killing' and 'wounding' as they gain ground for their side. How no one was injured during the reenactment I'll never know because it looks genuinely violent.

BATTLE REENACTMENT - THE LAST TWO SOLDIERS FIGHTING

The battle really was amazing as the closest I've ever got to anything like it is through watching Game of Thrones. Even though we all knew which side was going to win it was a fantastic thing to watch. I really enjoyed the whole day out and would definitely go back again next year!

Have you ever been to Tewkesbury Medieval Festival, or any other type of medieval reenactment before?
